A Message from the Chair

Message

My Fellow Aggies and Friends:

I am excited, honored, humbled, and thrilled to be the Chair of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Association, Inc. Over the course of the past 30 years, I have been a passionate advocate for our alma mater. It is because of my commitment to North Carolina A&T that I accept this awesome responsibility. It is my hope that you, too, are excited and energized to serve our alma mater and the Alumni Association.

My expectation is that all of us will work to transform our Association by engaging, educating, and reconnecting alumni to A&T. As an Association, we are working to enhance and advance the reputation of our institution for you and the future graduates who will join the ranks of over 45,000 alumni of A&T. We aim to provide comprehensive services and integrated activities and programs for alumni to stay connected and participate in university life.

The new integrated alumni relations model is necessary to provide expanded services to the Aggie family. When fully implemented, it will provide both the University and the Association the ability to optimize resources and better utilize shrinking fiscal resources. We are streamlining processes to reduce operational and maintenance redundancies, and eliminate fragmented and duplicative programs and activities. This new transformed alumni-centric model will put information in the hands of all members of the Aggie family sooner.

It is said that “an organization’s greatest resources is its members.”  With your help and involvement, we will develop and implement an integrated alumni relations model that is par excellence and one that all can be proud to affiliate. Alumni involvement is a priority for both the Association and University. Success of this model depends on the participation of all members of the Aggie family, especially alumni. I look forward to working with all of you as we accept the challenge of developing and implementing this model. I know we will be successful because of our commitment and love for our alma mater. ‘Transforming to Serve.’

With Much Aggie Love,

Claudette Bennett, PhD ‘75
Chair, Board of Directors
North Carolina A&T State University Alumni Association, Incorporated
