8 a.m. – Alumni Council Annual Breakfast
Members of the Alumni Council will convene for their yearly meeting to discuss the direction of the council and strategic planning for this new alumni-based organization.
Noon-1:30 p.m. Alumni Chat & Panel Discussion: “JOMC Jeopardy”
Select alumni from the media industry, including broadcast production, print, public relations and multimedia fields will serve as panelist for this informative workshop. Panelists will entertain questions from current students and other alumni on such topics as: career advice, getting your foot in the door, ethical standards, staying relevant, how to turn an internship into an actual job, networking, juggling family and work life, and how to handle stress on the job.
2-5 p.m. – Alumni Networking Day Party
To kick-off the high energy of GHOE, we invite all alumni to come back for a networking day party and social media mixer. Whether you’ve changed careers, been in business for 30 days, are a recent grad, or doing something outside of industry or pursuing graduate studies…..you are invited! Alumni will get a chance to exchange business cards, mingle and network with other alums and friends of the department as well as have some fun connecting with current students to share personal and professional advice. Come prepared to Tweet, Instagram and post to Facebook about your experiences as JOMC Alumni!
